Hello, I'm Greg
Welcome to my pastoral profile page. This content exists on a hidden section of the website I use for my personal media work. You are welcome to explore this site to learn more about me as an author, podcaster, and speaker. I hope the contents of this page are helpful in getting to know me better. May God's blessings be with you and your pastoral search.
Ministry Style, Theology,
and a Few Random Fun Facts
- I love Jesus. My daily prayer is to serve Him by being a blessing to others. I have a heart for the suffering and broken.
- I am a Wesleyan Arminian and have spent my years in the Methodist tradition.
- I am a student of the Word and a lifelong learner. I believe that encouraging others is a New Testament principle that too easily gets lost these days.
- I am a man of prayer and believe in bold, powerful prayers. I have led each church I've served to increase their prayer life.
- I have extensively studied the Bible. I'm currently going deep into 2 Corinthians. It's difficult for a believer to pick favorite books, but I must confess partiality to the books of James, 1 John, and Amos (that last one came out of the blue, didn't it?!) I've also drawn much from Hosea, and Habakkuk.
- I am a student of leadership, and I study the work of Andy Stanley, Patrick Lencioni, Michel Hyatt, Robert Quinn, Joeseph Grenny, and more. While I regard my role as a pastor to be a servant role, I also have learned the value of using my God-directed skills as a leader to bring people together and create momentum. I believe that Galatians 5:16-26 is an excellent resource for church leadership.
- My experience as a digital content producer will help me to review a church's digital footprint and find ways to improve our reach. For better or worse, our communities tend to be online a lot, including social media usage. I believe this is a bold new way we can minister Jesus' Good News in effective and productive ways.
- I am a storyteller and love teaching the Word of God. I've been told that God has blessed me with the ability to make Scripture accessible and understandable to all ages.
- I believe in empowering and training people. The work of the church is served well by activated workers.
- I am accessible and open to the people. I love people, and I strive to serve with humility and integrity.
- I will be accountable. I believe in accountability partners.
- I understand the value of children's ministry. I will be available to our children's ministry workers and be active with the children of the church.
- I am deeply empathetic. I am creative and an ideator. I'm a dreamer-doer.
- My daily routine is to open the day with prayer, and journaling (one for a daily prayer entry, and one for exploration of Scripture).
- I try to live a healthy lifestyle, including eating a healthy diet (most of the time!) and exercising regularly.
- I have been married to Maxine for over a year now, and I love the joy and beauty she brings to my world. I am a better man because I get to walk with her through life. Two of our young grandchildren live with us. Maxine is a shining light in this world, and you will love her instantly.
- I have a daughter whose family lives in Tulsa. Her mother, Barbara, and I were married for 25 years. Barbara passed away in 2015 the result of a lifelong struggle with rheumatoid arthritis. That event was the catalyst for becoming an author and learning graphic design as a side pursuit.
- I was on a game show once. Relevant? I don’t know. Fun? Most certainly.
- I had everything in place to move to Nashville to pursue songwriting after a successful career in radio. Instead, after two remarkable, supernatural encounters with God, I finally said yes to my lifelong calling into pastoral ministry.
Ministry and Career Summary
Over 14 years in professional radio broadcasting
My work as a program director and on-air personality (mostly afternoon drive, some morning drive) taught me to be a leader, made me a better writer, and gave me confidence as a public voice. I helped build a station into Southern Indiana's top country music outlet in the 90s, eventually earning reporting status. I was blessed to win awards for my production work, I received one of the top honors for radio people, and was once featured in a national broadcasting publication.
Almost 20 years as a lead pastor
My pastoral work is where my heart still lies today. I was richly blessed to pastor four churches across Indiana, Ohio, and Illinois.
I was identified by the Free Methodist Church as one of the leading pastors in the area of turning churches around and leading new growth while at Hope Church in Illinois. This isn't to my glory, but to the glory of God that He consistently enabled me to help churches turn around, grow, and discover fresh life. I worked with a team on an initiative called Recalibrate where we developed and learned strategies for turning around churches that were declining.
I learned how to develop a quiet patience, coupled with a bold, holy drive, to find the right pace in helping churches gain momentum in serving Jesus and their community.
Now 5 years in to work as a communications and digital media specialist, author, and digital content producer.
I have helped renovate and revitalize two different communications departments at churches in Peoria, IL, and Fort Worth, TX. I've written four books, produced several podcasts, and traveled as a public speaker before the pandemic. I've been blessed to have the confidence of the lead pastors in both of these situations to bring the message on occasion. In Peoria, the pastor considered me to be the online voice of the church. While there, I helped them build a Digital Media Suite that included a livestream studio and a recording/podcast studio. In Fort Worth, I've helped them realize the important goal of capturing our ministry work on video (you'll find a few samples below).

My Present Calling
I'm listening carefully as God calls me to take on a lead pastoral role once again. I am willing and excited to see what the days ahead bring. Since saying my first yes to a pastoral role, my attitude has been, "Here I am, Lord, Send Me." I look forward to being a breath of fresh air, breathed full of God's Holy Spirit, as I minister the love and mercy of Jesus.

Video Production Work
I love to tell stories. I love to share stories that speak to the heart. I do this as a speaker, and I also do this as a digital content creator. The following clips are work I did for Lighthouse Fellowship (Fort Worth). I directed, produced, and edited each of these. I also did interview work where necessary to help the participants to tell their story in a powerful way..
